Civil War Lee at Fredericksburg An American Civil War collectible, "Lee at Fredericksburg," by Mort Kunstler. The artwork depicts General Lee and Confederate troops passing through Fredericksburg, Virginia, and recommending that the people leave the city for their own safety. Two days later cannon shells from the Federal forces crashed into the houses and shops destroying the city. The excellent print is highlighted by skillful mat cutting that draws attention to the brass CSA wreath like those which would be worn on an officers hat. Included also in the picture is an authentic US Civil War postage stamp of Robert E. Lee which was issued June 29, 1995. The oak framed picture, with glass, measures 15 1/2 by 12 1/2. It is matted using three mat colors and has a 1/8 inch cut-out line that highlights everything in the picture.
