Civil War Gettysburg "Pickett's Charge"
An American Civil War collectible, "The High Tide," by Mort Kunstler. The artwork depicts Pickett's Charge at Gettysburg, where 15,000 Confederate troops engaged the Union forces at a place called Cemetery Ridge. The excellent artwork is highlighted by skillful mat cutting that draws attention to the brass crossed rifles like those which would be worn on the cap of a Civil War infantryman. The oak framed picture, with glass, measures 15 1/2 by 12 1/2. It is matted using three mat colors and has a 1/8 inch cut-out line that highlights everything in the picture. The authentic Civil War Centennial Gettysburg stamp was issued July 1, 1963.
