Civil War Forrest "Fight at Fallen Timbers""THE FIGHT AT FALLEN TIMBERS"
At the Battle of Shiloh, during a Confederate withdrawal, General Sherman's Union forces stumbled into a ferocious charging Confederate force led by Nathan Forrest, who managed to lead his men in a daring escape. Artist Mort Kunstler captures this flight to safety in his painting, "The Fight At Fallen Timbers." The excellent print is highlighted by skillful mat cutting that draws attention to the brass crossed swords like those which would be worn on the cap of a Civil War calvaryman. Included also in the picture is an authentic Civil War Centennial Shiloh stamp which was issued April 7, 1962. The oak framed picture, with glass, measures 15 1/2 by 12 1/2. It is matted using three mat colors and has a 1/8 inch cut-out line that highlights everything in the picture.
