Civil War Grant "On To Richmond""ON TO RICHMOND"
An American Civil War collectible, "On to Richmond," by Mort Kunstler. By the end of the second day of the battle of the Wilderness, General Grant's Union soldiers faced stiff Confederate forces as well as burning underbrush. Instead of being told to retreat, Grant ordered his battle weary troops to press on. The excellent print is highlighted by skillful mat cutting that draws attention to the two brass buttons like those worn on an Union officer's uniform. The oak framed picture, with glass, measures 15 1/2 by 12 1/2. It is matted using three mat colors and has a 1/8 inch cut-out line that highlights everything in the picture. The authentic Civil War stamp of General Ulysses Grant was issued June 29, 1995.
