Emergency Medical Technician

DID YOU KNOW? The familiar symbol of the Emergency Medical Service is called "The Star of Life." It was created in 1973 after complaints from the American Red Cross which objected to the use and imitation of their red cross symbol being used by ambulance services throughtout America. Those wearing the EMS patch are required to meet National and State Training Standards and are in no way connected to the American Red Cross. This solid oak framed picture honoring the Emergency Medical Services measures 15 1/2 by 18 inches. Three mat colors are used to enhance the maxie card featuring an Emergency Service ambulance. Also included is an EMT medallion and patch. The single stamp depicts an 1860 ambulance which was issued June 21, 1985, making it 16 years old.
