USS Connecticut (SSN 22)DID YOU KNOW?
As many as 29 Seawolf class submarines were
originally planned. In 1995 it was decided
that only 3 boats be completed. The USS
Connecticul (SSN 22) was the second to be
built. Like the USS Seawolf, it is 353 feet
long, 40 feet wide and can travel in excess
of 35 miles per hour submerged. The only
limits to how long a nuclear submarine can
remain submerged are how long the food supply
lasts and the psychological limits of the crew.
This 19 1/4 by 15 3/4 inch hardwood framed
picture, with 3 colored mats, consists of a
submarine patch (USS Connecticut-SSN 22) and
a gold tone submarine emblem. Picture on the
artcard is a Seawold Class Nuclear Attack
Submarine along with a picture of the US
Department of Navy seal. There are 4 submarine
postge stamps also included in this picture.
