The USS Hartford (SSN 768) is one of the 60
Los Angeles Class Nuclear fast attack
submarines that were constructed. Like others
in its class, it is 360 feet long and 33 feet
across. Approximately 135 people serve aboard
at any given time. Being among the last of
their class, the USS Hartford is quieter and has
the ability to lay mines from the torpedo
tubes and strength to break through ice if necessary.
This 19 1/2 inch by 15 3/4 inch hardwood
framed picture, with 3 colored mats, consists of
a submarine patch (USS Hartford-SSN 768)
and a gold tone submarine emblem. Pictured on
the maxicard is a Los Angeles Class Nuclear
Attack Submarine along with a picture of the
US Department of Navy seal. There are 3 submarine
postage stamps also included in this picture.
