B-25 Mitchell Airplane

DID YOU KNOW? The B-25 Mitchell was an effective twin engine bomber. It is best known for doing the impossible. Under the command of Jimmy Doolittle, sixteen B-25's were launched off the deck of the aircraft carrier USS Hornet. Their mission was to fly 650 miles to bomb the Japanese capital. This was an event the Japanese people had been assured could not happen. The Japanese never anticipated the B-25's ability to fly off the deck of an aircraft carrier. This 17 1/2 inch by 15 1/2 inch hardwood framed picture consists of an Air Force patch, Air Force wings, three World War II Army Air Corps official postage stamps (three cent stamp is 55 years odl) and a maxicard picturing a B-25 Mitchell bomber.
