Mass production of the F-16 started in 1975.
It was designed as a light-weight air combat
fighter for the U.S. Air Force. It was
nicknamed the "Fighting Falcon." It tested
out to be an excellent interceptor with bomber
capabilities. Armed with cluster bombs and
side-winder missiles, F-16s wrought havoc on
entrenched Iraqi troops in the Desert Storm
Conflict. Updates of avionics and electronics
keep the F-16 on the cutting edge of the
