U.S. Navy #1

DID YOU KNOW? An old Navy tradition has it that the ship's cook shines the ship's bell and the ship's bugler shines the ship's whistle. This tradition may still be observed in some of the ships of the modern Navy. However, in normal practice, the ship's bell is maintained by a man charged with the upkeep of that part of the ship where the bell is located. This 18 1/2 inch by 16 inch hardwood framed picture is matted in 3 colors and consists of a U.S. Navy patch and a USN brass hat device. Included is a 3 cent navy stamp issued October 27, 1945 (56 years old), and three 29 cent US Navy stamps selected from the World War II stamp issue. Pictured on the maxicard is a picture of the seal of the Department of the Navy and a picture of the USS Battleship Arizonia.
