F4U (Corsair)

DID YOU KNOW? The Corsair established an outstanding combat record in World War II with the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. It became the primary fighter of the Pacific Theater. Its gull-winged shaped wing gave it a distinctive appearance. With a production of 12,571, it became the U.S. Navy's longest serving combat fighter, ending its service in Korea. Its top speed was 415 miles per hour and was powered by a 2,000 hp engine. This 18 by 15 1/2 inch hardwood framed picture matted in 3 colors consists of a Navy patch and goldtone wings. Navy aviation stamps may vary. The central focus of the picture is the Corsair artwork.
