Union 76 Oil CompanyDID YOU KNOW?
The first gasoline station was opened December
1, 1913, in Pittsburg. It was built by Gulf
Oil Company and sold 30 gallons of gas the
first day of operation. 87 years later, in
2000, there were over 187,000 service stations
in the U.S. When Gulf opened the original
filling station, there were about 500,000
vehicles on the roads. Today there are 68
vehicles per 100 people in America, or more
than 200 million. Self service gas stations
started in the 1970's and now sell more gas
than all other gasoline retailers. Framed in hardwood, the picture measures
16 1/4 x 15 3/4 inches. Three different mat
colors add to the picture's appearance. Included
in this picture is an art print of an Union 76
station, an Union 76 patch and a special issue
envelope commemorating the 140th anniversary
of the petroleum industry and 4 cent petroleum industry
stamp which is 41 years old (August 27, 1959).Our Price: $56.00
