Ashland Oil CompanyDID YOU KNOW?
In the earliest days of the auto, gas pumps
were located at curb side on the street just
like the fire hydrant. With more and more cars
on the road, the traffic congestion at the
gas pumps became so bad that cities passed
laws regulating the sale of gasoline. This
problem was solved in 1913 when Gulf Oil
opened the first "Filling Station" in Pittsburg.
Withinin two years gas stations were appearing
all across the country. Framed in hardwood the picture measures
16 1/4 x 15 3/4 inches. Three different mat
colors add to the picture's appearance. Included
in this picture is an art print of an Ashland
station, an Ashland patch and a special
issue envelope commemorating the 140th
anniversary of the petroleum industry and 4 cent petroleum industry
stamp which are 41 years old (August 27, 1959).Our Price: $56.00
