Amoco Oil Company

DID YOU KNOW? Between 1930 and 1939 the gas station evolved into a service station. They were not only a place to get gasoline, but also a place to get your car worked on and repaired. Mechanic bays were becoming a common site. It was during this time a variety of products were offered for sale - including tires, batteries and wiper blades as well as an oil change and "grease job." The gasoline credit card was introduced by Chevron during this same period in history. Framed in hardwood the picture measures 16 1/4 x 15 3/4 inches. Three different mat colors add to the picture's appearance. Included in this picture is an art print of an Amoco station, an Amoco patch and a special issue envelope commemorating the 140th anniversary of the petroleum industry and 4 cent petroleum industry stamp which is 41 years old (August 27, 1959).
